I do so many things I'm not sure where to start. I call myself an artist and if asked I say I'm a painter. I also do printmaking and make books, both blank and artist books. I like to keep journals and sketchbooks too. I have a part time day job at a primary school where I assist Kinder to Year 2 in the computer lab (eg. we teach touch typing from Year 1 on), do graphic design for the schools special publications and teach the teachers about Web 2.0 technologies. Currently I'm training them to use Photoshop Elements. The hardest part of this intro comes now when I have to decide what images to add that represent my creative out put!!! Here goes...
That last shot is of one of my journals I made in progress when I was in Italy a couple of years ago.

Helena, tragically sausages and mash does represent my creative output! I am firmly lodged in the everyday for my inspiration. I love the (extra)ordinary!

I've started my Moly! Not sure where I'm going with it. I've been all experimental and as usual that didn't work quite the way I expected. I like it so far though!
How many rotations are we doing? How many pages each?
Sooo... I started mine too, I didn't realise it's not watercolour paper! Wah! Now I'm all stressed, maybe I'll cut out the first page.
What paints are you guys using? My usual india ink / watercolour combo does NOT work!
someone asked m somewhere how many pages... I tend to do 3 to 4 panels. We can go a two rounds or not if you want. I don't mind doing two rounds, but I am not sure that everyone is going to be into that.
Anyway, yes, the paper doesn't particularly like watercolour. I do it anyway. But me in my messy state likes it. I have noticed, though, if you use an aquarelle type pencil that works better than just trying to apply paint directly. Hope that helps you Ms. P.
Yes it doesn't take watercolour very well. When I use watercolour I add a little water tension breaker to it (Matisse brand). I use all kinds of paint! It takes everything else really well. It's quite sturdy. That's why I find I'm being experimental in these little books.
Hmmm... okay maybe I'll just use some watered down acrylic and a little make-believe?
